Following is a list of potential elements of a safety plan. Due to the diversity of ages, backgrounds and circumstances of each individual child, the resources are a guide to potential elements and the Smyle Initiative takes no responsibility if the resources are not in line with the sensitivities of the individuals. It is not our intention to offend anyone.
Elements from "Let's Stay Safe"
Bike Safety - Wearing a helmet - Pages 6 - 7
Pedestrian Safety - Crossing at a corner. Not running into the street. Pages 8 - 9
Safety from Strangers - Don't talk to strangers. Let your parent know of plans with friends. Don't open the door to your house without permission. Pages 10 - 13
Body Safety - Your body is private, even to people you know. Secrets from your parents are not ok. Tell your parent. We can always say no. Pages 14 - 19
Physical Safety - Only take medicine when given by a parent. Page 20
Safety from Choking Hazard - Put small toys away. Page 21
Fire Safety - Don't play with matches or touch the stove. . Have a fire plan. Pages 22 - 25
